Im new to all of this what steps do you recommend me taking to get familiar with trading are their any good books I heard that Security analysis is a good book however Im afraid that since it was written so long ago that it might be a little outdated. The reason I ask is because their are so many online claiming to be the perfect step by step guide and personally I think they might just be pulling ppls chains and scamming them for wrong information.

I'm also starting college in the fall what classes should I take to learn about the stock market I know in business they teach it but I'm just curious to know if their are any must take classes that will teach you specifically how to trade?

In fact , there are many books that explained how could you trade . simply read murphy's book and if you want to a lot of details about subjects that exist in murphy , go to books that explain each subject by spread way .

Read these in the following order. It makes more sense that way:

Dr Alexander Elder:
1. Trading for a Living
2. Come Into My Trading Room

Dr. Van Tharpe:
1.Supertrader
2.Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom
